There are several doctors and clinics in the north state that offer (or have in the past, some stop because of negative notoriety ) medical marijuana recommendation services. They will require that you bring copies of your medical file or medical records or proof of your medical condition, so before your appointment get copies of your records from your previous doctor or caretaker!

It is your legal right to request copies of your medical records from your physician for any reason, however they may charge you for copies and it may take them several days to copy them so make arrangements in advance.

Will California Residents always need a recommendation in order to obtain medical marijuana?? Maybe not. On the ballot in November 2010 there will be several initiatives that if passed intend to legalize marijuana (up to an ounce ) for anyone over the age of 21. But for seriously ill patients and patients with chronic medical conditions a physician's recommendation will be necessary for people who intend to grow or posses more than an ounce of marijuana.

Until then, members of the GreenCCC must have a California ID and a physician's recommendation.
